A Few Venture North

A few riders took to the M1 to head north of the border last Saturday to have a go at the Lisburn Trials Club Freddie Hampton Clubman Classic Trial. A fun day out with 4 laps of 10 sections catering for Noice, Sportsman and Clubman. It was a chance for the youth D riders from the south to try a new venue and meet other riders their age from up north. Arthur Hampshire, Jack Cregg and Ollie Smyth took to the Novice line, while Sam and Chris Hampshire took to the Clubman line with Wayne Yore and Philip Branigan.

A dry but cool day saw the sections become more slippy as the day went on, with a mixture of rocky and muddy hills to overcome. Stuart Hanlon even made it out but not on his usual Beta, but this time on a Honda C90 rode bike! He rode the noice line and made the poor bike do things it was never intended for! He also annoyingly made it look easy all day long! It was such a well run event with lots of parking and a easily marked route round the course. Everyone was in great form and plenty of banter and slagging given and taken. In a time where trials is in yet another low down south through no fault of its own, it was a nice beak from the doom and gloom by being at the Lisburn Trials Club event. All the southern crew made it round safe and sound and all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It won’t be the last time they will be up there.

Thanks goes to all at the Lisburn Trials Club for making everyone feel very welcome.
